BE SOMEONE'S BUILDER

Many will be wondering "How can I be someone's builder". Well, you can be one, being someone's builder is similar to encouraging someone positively. The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5 vs 11 "Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do" (KJV). What does that verse mean? The phrase "Comfort yourselves together" means encouraging and helping each other in any difficulties. It then says "Edify one another, even as also ye do" You don't just only encourage people, but also build them up, edify them as you did to yourself. Others will come in to encourage but won't support or help in building that individual up, some try to build them up but wasn't the way they built themselves up. 

It is just like you are making money online with great ideas for making huge amounts of money, someone came to you to teach him/her, and all you did was teach him/her just the Basics not teaching in detail. That's not how it works when building up someone about to give up. You encourage them, let them know you are there to help and bring them up from the ground to the highest height you can. There are always rewards for encouragement and building up someone's life.

Encouragement is something we all need to keep ourselves motivated, loved, and feel confident in ourselves and what we do. It truly gives us joy when you encourage and build up someone and he/she becomes great in life. How will you feel when you are trying hard to pursue your target goals but have no one to help or encourage you, how will you feel when you asked for help and you were rejected. You will surely feel bad and discouraged that it may lead to not achieving your goals, or not becoming who you want to be.

what am I trying to say, we should always love, comfort, and lift up others and people around us as ourselves, never miss the opportunity of helping or lifting others up because if you do miss it when you had the chance to, you have discouraged and destroy that individual's life if he/she likely not to have anyone to help.

In our world today, everyone has worries, whether the rich or the poor. We face challenges of failure, lack of finances, family problems, sickness, loneliness, and even depression, etc.But the question is how you respond in those moments, life is not always easy and there are seasons for real pain, even the Bible says there is time to laugh and time to cry, time to gain and time to lose.

Do you know the greatest helper? The one who never fails? He is the only one that is always there to help you in everything no matter the challenge or difficulty, just know that nothing is too difficult for Him. God is our greatest helper, when we seek His face and call unto Him to help and build us up, He is always there for us. He can help by sending lifters of men, people who are willing to encourage and build you up(lift you up). 

In Deut. 31:8 "And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed".

Why then are we rejecting Him in our life? If you don't have Him in your life and trust in Him, I'm sorry, the solutions you get from men not sent by God are temporary, God's solutions to every problem are permanent. Don't give up on Him, don't lose Him in your life, have Him in your life, and get the best in your life. God neither sleeps nor slumbers, He is always there and ready to help you.

Psalm 121 vs 1-2 " I will lift up my eyes unto the hill, from whence cometh my help, my help cometh from the Lord which made heaven and earth"

God is the truth He is not a man that He should lie, has He promised and not done it? Believe in God he got your back He said fear not because he won't fail you. Isaiah 41:10 "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness".

Today we allow our thoughts to get the better part of us Proverbs 23:7 "As a man thinks in his heart so he is" We should make our thoughts positive don't be a victim of our thought.

The sentence that comes out of your mouth is a story that you are putting out. It is okay to cry but don't draw back, even in the Bible it is written that 'Jesus wept'. 

God's help is greater than others, it is perfect and permanent. A lot of people will say they always call God to help but He doesn't answer, it is either God is preparing something big and you have to be patient or you didn't put actions to your faith. Jesus said, "According to your faith it will be done unto you". Don't stop asking God, wrestle with Him to get what you want just like Jacob. Never give up when it seems you are losing or not achieving your dreams. God is making great plans for you, keep proving your negative thoughts wrong and encourage yourself for success and also help others achieve their dreams because everyone needs to be valued, appreciated, and needs that blessing.

Go in today and look for opportunities to encourage others to bring out the best in them and help them accomplish their dreams. And as you do so, God Almighty will reward you abundantly, Amen 🙏🙌.

GREED AND ITS REWARD

Greed is responsible for much sorrow. The Bible says in 1 Timothy 6:10 “For the love of money is the root of all evil.” But is greed only about money? No. Greed goes much further than money.

What is greed exactly then? What does God or the Bible have to say about it?

Greed is a spiritual disease of the heart affecting all areas of a person’s life, it has destroyed a lot of lives in our world today, at the end of this if you are in this category you should read and make a wise decision to avoid the reward of greed. 

WHAT IS GREED?

Greed is the excessive or extreme desire/need for something(food, money, or possession) or social value (power). Greed is not all about money, a lot of people do think greed is all about money that's wrong.

a person can be hungry for money but also for possession, fame, another person's time, for attention.

A man named James came from a poor background always struggling to survive same goes for his friend John, they both lived a horrible life always finding a way to eat and feed their family members, having to stay home without being educated to help the family survive. A day came when John went to James to discuss traveling to the city to find a job to earn some money for their family, they both agreed to turn things around in their family, education was what James want to go into while John wants to go into making money. 

While in the city they both work as security men in a company and started receiving a salary at the end of every month. James does send 50% of his salary to his family members and save the rest for education because he really wants to go to school while John does send 20% of his salary to his family members and spend the rest on party, clubs, and some people that don't add benefits to his life, John doesn't have plans for his future all he do is spending money for his satisfaction. Well, the time came John used his money to start a business after James advised him to plan for the future but John was selfish and greedy when he was making a lot of money and forgot his family members he promised to help, he was never contented with what he has, he wanted more to the extent he doesn't pay his workers full salary anymore always him and business. He will use his money for gambling to get more buy a lot of material things, he doesn't offer help to those in need, and he never visited his family members, his mum got sick and wasn't treated she died, and his siblings, running here and there searching for jobs to survive. That was how John lived his life.

On the other hand, James went to school to study Business Administration, he came out second-class graduate and was employed to manage an organization's resources to ensure it runs effectively, efficiently, and profitably. He was also given three bed-room flat and a private car. He was earning a huge amount of money, he called his family members to the city, helped them, send his younger ones to school, and gave money to his mum to start a business. Everyone was so happy about his success, even the CEO of the company was very happy to have him in his company and handed over the company to James as the new CEO. James was kind, generous, and satisfied with what he had and he does donate some money to the orphanage and helped some families who were poor. He built a school building for those who are not educated. everyone loved James and that's how God blessed him and his family.

When John heard this, he went to James to seek his ideas about business management and lied to him that he needed money to import more goods and also treat his mum. Well, James being generous helped him as he was impersonated by John, John used the money to gamble and spend for his satisfaction.

John went to a club to gamble, he won and ended the game but didn't know who he defeated. On his way back home, he was attacked by a group of men with guns and some weapons who tried to kill him, John narrowly escaped being injured but didn't successfully escape as he asked a man to help him, the man rejected him and walked away. That was how John died with his greediness.

James went to his hometown, saw John's siblings took them in as his family, send them to school, and gave John's brother a job and that was how James lived his life as it was planned.

With this, you can figure out the causes and rewards of greed but still, I will emphasize more on that. Greed is never a good thing or character in the life of a person that doesn't get rid of it. you see the life of John, because of greed he lost his life, and reputation and couldn't get help from anyone because of his character. If you are living a life like John, get rid of it and live a life like James and even more than what James did.

Let's see why John was greedy, that's the 

CAUSES OF GREED

What makes an individual greedy? what causes greed in the life of a person? Why are people greedy?

-  Discontentment: This has answered it all, discontentment is the major cause of greed. People who are greedy are never satisfied with what they have even if it seems enough for them they aren't satisfied, they want more. "Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income" (Ecclesiastes 5:10).

- ENVY: This has caused a lot, it is always in the life of greedy people. They are envious of others, they want to have what is not theirs and take what they want from them. They will find every possible means to get what does not belong to them because of envy. They always feel that an individual has it all and what to take it all for their satisfaction. As I said earlier greed is not only about money. These individuals they are envious of may have power or great possession, greedy people will find every means, they don't care what means they will use to get it from them, this is what causes greediness.

- Lack of Money: People need money, yes that's true but we have a limit for that. The love of money is the root of all evil according to Bible. If you are always in need of money to meet your needs it can lead you to do something illegally, something that can destroy someone else's life because you don't want to lack anything. Greed can make you feel you are lacking, and that you should find every means to meet your needs. Because of that it forces you to pursue money at all costs.

Let's see examples of those in the Bible who were greedy;

- Zacchaeus (Luke 19) He was a tax collector, he was in love with money which made him take money from people in the town, he wasn't satisfied but later get rid of greed in his life when Jesus Christ visited him.

- Judas Iscariot, a disciple of Jesus Christ betrayed Jesus Christ for money not only that, his weakness was greed for money, for every contribution the people makes for Jesus' ministration, he always take part of it from the money box. (John 12:4-6)

- Achan one of the children of Israel when sent to Jericho with Joshua and his army that every silver, gold, and all that was in the city must be devoted to God. Achan out of greed took with him some of the gold and silver and went back. Because of his greediness, the children of Israel lost the battle against Ai and also he and his family were stoned to death. (Joshua 17)

- Ananias and Sapphira out of greed took some part of the money gotten from the land they sold and also lied to Peter and the Holy Spirit. As a result of their lies and greed they died. (Acts 5)

- Gehazi's greed led to lying, deceit, and leprosy 

Those are some of the examples of people in the Bible that were greedy and you can see the reward of their greediness. Most people thought they need more to succeed, more money, more power, and more friends to succeed. Yes, it may help you but is it permanent? Is it gonna last? No. Take greed out of you.

Well, I can say greed has a positive impact also, it helps you to push for better social and economic outcomes.

There are rewards for greed, let's talk about the rewards of greed;

REWARD OF GREED 

- Overspending

- Anxiety, always worrying about how to get what you don't have and keep to the standard of living.

- Death; Greed steals life (Proverb 1 vs 19 - "So are the ways of everyone that's greedy of gain, which taketh away the life of the owner thereof")

- Lack of trust and dishonesty; people won't trust you anymore or won't go into deals with you because of dishonesty and lack of trust in you.

- It ruins families (proverbs 15:27), just like Achan

- Mal-adaption behavior [gambling, robbery, theft, fraud (we do call it yahoo-yahoo) etc.]

- Depression 

Some will ask how can we eliminate greed to avoid the dangers/rewards of greed.

HOW TO ELIMINATE GREED

1Timothy 6:17-19

- You must be contented with what you have in order to cure greed. Contentment is the greatest cure for greed.

- Charity; you have to show love to others. Learn how to give and show love to others.

- You must be generous.

- Be honest.

- You must pray for God to help you change this lifestyle.

With these, you can get rid of greed and live a happy life that others will respect and love you. Above all, God will be happy and bless you abundantly.

A lot of people always have thoughts in their minds thinking of a way to open the gate to success, thinking of a way to get the key to success. Well, some achieved their goals while others didn't because they didn't follow the steps or got something missing in their life, something dragging them to failure, something creating ways for failure to come in.

Today, we will show the key to success and how to open the gate to success. You can't open the gate of success if you don't pass through failure, what do I mean? You must pass through failures, you must overcome every failures that comes in before you open the gate, and before you get the keys you must have overcome every challenge (sins, Satan, the world).

FAILURE comes in when you give up when you can't overcome it while SUCCESS comes in when you don't give up, you keep moving forward when things are trying to bring you down or trying to draw you backward.

Let's now talk about FAILURE, what it is, what causes it, also the benefits of FAILURE😏, yes failure has its benefit in life then we move on to how to overcome it to gain access to success and 

FAILURE is the condition of not achieving your desired goals/dreams and it is the opposite of success.

SUCCESS is the accomplishment of reaching your goals, dreams, and purpose.

- It builds compassion: Failure will cause you to be concerned about your success, recognize your mistakes and put into action to help correct them.

WHAT CAUSES FAILURE

There is a lot that causes failure, the overall cause is SIN but let's list out other causes;

- Focusing on others' dreams; This is where a lot of people find it difficult to be successful because they want to be what they don't want to be. Someone's dream is not your dream, everyone has his/her own dreams to pursue.

- Not working hard: This is another major problem, how do you want to be successful if you don't work hard?🤷 never let failure discourage you, no matter how many times you have failed keep working harder give up, learn to have a "never die attitude" There's a level you will reach to get the rewards of your hard work.

- Not believing you can make it: Many fall into this category, they don't trust themselves, and they don't believe they can do it because they failed and tried many times and didn't achieve their goal. How do you want to succeed when you are not challenging yourself and believing in yourself you can still make it no matter the number of failures you pass through.

- Negative thoughts: A book I read says; "you shouldn't speak out your negative thought because it creates ways for them". For example, you are very ill and what is in your mind is 'I won't make it, I may die" Then you speak it out, it means you are creating a way for death.

The Bible says; "There's power in the tongue" Whatever you say happens, always speak positively to your life and change your negative thoughts into positive ones when speaking out.

- Distractions.

- Pride can lead you to failure; you can't be successful without the help of others. You have to bring yourself down to the lowest if you want to achieve something. Learn from others especially those who are successful, pride can destroy you if you let it grow in you. You may achieve something but the time will come you will pay for your pride.

- Missing opportunities when you have the chance to grab them. Many are in this category, they lose opportunities that will create a way to their success.

HOW TO OVERCOME FAILURE AND OPEN THE GATE TO SUCCESS

(Joshua 1:8)

I have mentioned some of them in the previous chapter.

But the greatest solution is GOD, you need God first in your life to overcome this before any other things to do to be successful. Let's see how we can overcome failure and the keys to success to bring success to our lives. The most important keys are Faith, Prayers, and Focus

- You need to overcome its leader (Sin), it is because of sin we are unable to overcome we need salvation to overcome sin and Satan.

- Know your dreams/goals

- Work very hard for it, don't let people or anything discourage you or stop you from moving forward. An example is Thomas Edison, he failed 1,000 times to invent a light bulb, but he didn't give up, he worked hard and later invented light bulb. 

- Make a wise decisions in everything

- Be disciplined.

- Study both the word of God and your books

- Commitment

- Be ready for any opportunities and grab them don't lose them.

- Prayers: check the lives of some successful men and women they put God first in everything and pray.

- Work with others for your success, those who are willing to help you and cast away those who are there to destroy you, distance yourself from them.

There's a saying "If you work with 3 successful men/women you will definitely be the fourth successful man/woman"

With these, you can overcome FAILURE and bring SUCCESS into your life.

In conclusion, be careful of those around you, and know who you share ideas and dreams with. People may ask How can we know those that want to destroy you?

Well, you just need to be careful and wise. most importantly, seek the face of God to help you and lead you to those who are willing to help you and cast away those who are there to destroy you. If you open the gate of SUCCESS don't sit back keep moving forward with prayers and keep working hard for more success.
